Hyderabad: 5th December 2016, Synchrony Financial (NYSE: SYF), a premier consumer financial services company, has been awarded the prestigious Helen Keller Award by the NationalCentre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People in the Role Model Companies/NGOs/Institutions category. The Helen Keller Award is recognized as the most prestigious Indian benchmark forhonoring people and organizations working toward providing employment and equal growth opportunities for people with disabilities.
Synchrony Financial works to improve the communities where it does business through its Corporate Citizenship platform, and through seven employee Diversity and Inclusion networks, including the People with Disabilities Network (PDN). Synchrony Financial also has a uniqueCorporate Citizenship platform, Families that Work, which encourages the employees to participate in various activities to positively impact society and improve the quality of life of those in need. Weinvolve our employees in various community service activities. In one initiative, the volunteer hours spent were leveraged to provide vision to over 600 underprivileged patients through a unique “Allfor Eyes” campaign. In another case, to improve the safety surveillance in the old city, we have signed an MOU with the Hyderabad city police for the installation of 64 CCTV cameras. These cameras play an important role in helping to make the old city safer.”
